Screening of Left Field the Movie

August 19 · 7:00pm - 8:30pm
former Hillside Baptist Church
147 S. Hillside
Wichita, KS

A documentary was being filmed by two Kansas film makers on the phenomenon of adult kickball in Chicago, IL. KC Haywood and his fiance', Sarah Hart, were two of the main characters in this film. In fact, they were nearing the end of filming when on a late summer night in June of 2008, KC fell from their apartment building while attempting to scale the wall into their locked apartment. He was rushed to the hospital and though ...he fought valiantly to stay with us, on June 28th he passed away. It was at this point that the movie, Left Field, took an immediate change in direction. Though still focused on the game of kickball and all of the antics these rebel players brought to the game, it also highlights the relationships of this close knit group of friends and family, and the loss of their friend KC. It's a lighthearted look at life, love and loss.

The above comments were taken from a posting by KC's aunt, Chris Kaegi-Stephens. Since that time, thanks to Chris, other events have occurred. The Derby Informer printed a wonderful article, Wednesday, August 4th, http://www.derbyinformer.com/news/news.htm, and an upcoming article in the Wichita Eagle paper is planned.

Stop by the Donut Whole, 1720 East Douglas Avenue, before the movie for coffee and chatting, and the after party at Lucky's, 1217 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita.

If you know of places to put posters, please let me know.

$10 general admission, $8 student/senior/military
